Jane Conner-Ziser - Photoshop Fundamentals - Studio Retouching and More!

Course Description:
Photoshop and Painter for High End Portraiture

This class is always awesome - perfect location and fresh air to go with the gruelling work of painting! Ha! Register early for this one - it always fills up fast - this year we're going high end Photoshop and free style painting - Painter learners will have morning how to sessions - advanced students bring your own files and we'll work on them together! I understand we will also print from your files - yea!

Photoshop
After setting up a quick workspace and loading Jane's new retouching brushes you will prepare two images for painting; one for an impressionistic watercolor and the other for a classic oil. Previous students note that the images are expanded on what we did last year - more background elements and complex clothing so we can use different brush techniques and take the work to the next level. Image adjustments will also be made for setting color harmonies for a pleasant painting experience. Filters, plug ins and other special effects will be covered this day as well. Make a brush category and start loading it up with your favorite brushes.

Impressionism
This style of painting is loose and free. It sounds easy - and it is as long as you know how to move! Learn how to make water, clouds, rocks and grass, plus learn how to make and use custom Captured Brushes to create texture in foliage. Start a custom palette and learn how to save and share them. When this project is completed, you may start an impressionist painting from one of your own image files so bring a few to choose from - hint - high or medium key, ok?

Classic Portrait Oils
Not only are we going to expand brush technqiues for adding color, selective Auto Painting and Playback Strokes, but you're going to learn how to handle more complicated background objects and how to deviate from the photograph on clothing and hair to create motion and artistic flair to a fine art portrait. Focus on faces, details and color for a really decorative painting. When finished - start your own painting from one of you files - hint - medium to low key, ok?

Freestyle Painting
We're going to start with an abstract exercise to loosen up a bit and then go through some exercises on sketching, pastels, paper textures and other Painter special effects. After that; you're on your own with me to guide you to your destination painting. We're going to prepare some of the files for printing and get them off so they can be finished in time for you to take them home with you. Thanks Image Explorations for providing this bonus for our class!

Printing and Finishing
We're going to talk about printing, stretching, embellishing, making torn edges and presenting fine art portraiture while you finish up odds and ends from the week's creative exercises. We'll also talk about developing product lines from paintings and how to set up for selling fine art.
