Course Description:
Passion, Permission & Pixels: Creative Photoshop, ACR and Lightroom with Jack Davis
Shaping Your Story with Creative Shooting Techniques
PART 1: How far you take your photography has everything to do with how far you have given yourself permission to go. On the first day of this class Jack will illustrate how he has cultivated his own “permission” and creative experimentation – specifically with regards to what photographic tools and in-field shooting
techniques can be employed to create a unique and powerful image – one that expresses not only what was in front of you when you pressed the shutter, but also what was inside of you. Just some of the techniques we will experiment with during this hands-on session (which will include both landscape, still life and figure projects) will include the use of motion blur, infrared, macro, panoramas, as well as the expressive use of composition, contrast and focus.
Part 2: Shaping Your Image with Creative Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom techniques just as in the days of the wet darkroom, the storytelling process doesn’t stop in the camera, but only when the image is incarnated into something that can be viewed and shared in all its intended glory. And now
more than ever the capability to create imagery, to create art, that would never be possible in camera alone, is limitless. And with the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop CS4, Camera Raw 5 and Lightroom 2, there is the ability to do this digital alchemy almost effortlessly – and nondestructively, with an incredible amount of creative flexibility. This session will cover the latest and
greatest Adobe tools and techniques for quickly and easily (and nondestructively) enhancing your photography - and then instantly and automatically sharing that enhancing between multiple images with Actions, Smart Filter Recipes and Presets.
